Mike has been performing on stages for over 40 years. Starting in the early 60’s with “The Embers” performing at teen dances and clubs in the tri-state area. He also worked in a local group called “The General Assembly,” who had their own radio show on station WAYZ every Sunday.

In the 70’s Mike and his brothers along with Laird Bush formed the band “Everybody’s Brother,” which traveled the eastern seaboard playing covers and originals.

During the ‘floor show’ era, Mike and his brothers worked in the show band “Milk and Honey.”

In addition the brothers worked in a Boston-based group called “The Sunrise Show Band” who also played the eastern seaboard, performing with Wolfman Jack in the “Don Kirshner’s Saturday Night Rock Concert.”

From 1989 through 1992 Mike traveled with “The Nancy Wiles Band” and performed seven USO and DOD shows for our troops in Panama, Honduras, Spain, Turkey and Germany.  On July 4, 1991, Mike went to the Persian Gulf to play for the troops on the USS New Orleans.

1993-1995,  Mike played throughout the US and Europe with Deanna Bogart, performing with jazz and blues artists “Clark Terry and the Jazz Messengers,” Arturo Sandoval (Havana, Cuba), B.B. King and “The Neville Brothers” in venues such as the Clearwater Jazz Festival, the Monterey Jazz and Blues Festival, and the Hanover Jazz Festival in Germany.  Mike recorded with Deanna at Jimmy Buffett’s Studio and on the compilation CD Margaritaville Midnight Menu. Mike also has a Washington Area Music Association (WAMA) award that he received while working with Deanna.

In the early 90’s Mike joined the band “Blitz Dynette,” an eight piece R & B group from Harrisburg, PA. The group performed all over the US, including Las Vegas and has recently played with “The Average White Band.”

Mike has recently performed in “Cabaret” at the Capitol Theater in Chambersburg, PA and in ‘Odettes Cabaret’ in New Hope, PA, with actor, singer and songwriter John Brink, accompanied by Dr. William Bland on piano and Scott Matlock on Fiddle.  Mike is in his third year as a staff band member on the Pennsylvania Opry in Mercersburg, PA.  He is an accomplished studio musician, recording locally in Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, Key West, FL, and Nashville, TN.  In Nashville, he’s recorded with such talents as Steve Cummings, Brian Kennell, Jimmy Hall from “Wet Willie,” and Billy E. from Hank Williams Jr.’s band.
